I have practiced the Loving Kindness exercise. I really liked the background sounds during the Loving Kindness exercise which helped me to relax. I did find it difficult sometimes to remember what I was supposed to be doing. My mind would wander and I thought about what I needed to be doing. I do believe with practice, I can do better with this exercise. I would recommend doing this practice on a daily basis if possible. I do believe the more you practice this exercises, the easier it will be to relax on command.
The concept of a "Mental Workout" to me is basically what I just experienced doing this exercise. When we practice doing this exercise, it helps us to bring closer to us the feelings of love. It gives us the foundation we need to make it easier to love others and not be selfish with our actions. I believe using this Loving Kindness exercise and other meditations will give us a strong foundation to live and love life more fully. However it does take practice in order to fully implement these exercises into our lives. By doing so, we will lead calmer, more peaceful and healthier lives, which has been proven.
